Joset Van De Burgh make the nicest dies with characters that are really gorgeous. This is a card that I made using the Octopus dies set. I hope you really enjoy it.

Here's the tutorial to make this card:

Step 1: Card base
  • Cut a piece of Elizabeth Craft Designs White Soft Finish Cardstock to 11'' x 5 1/2''; fold in half to make a 5 1/2'' square card.
  • Cut a Blue Calypso Bazzill cardstock to 5 3/8'' square.
  • Cut a Moody Blue Bazzill cardstock to 5 1/4'' square .
  • Round the corners of the 2 colored cardstock.
  • Adhere the cardstock in the following order with some Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

  • Using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stiched Circles #1116 dies set, die cut together the 4th and the 3rd largest dies in some Elizabeth Craft Designs White Soft Finish Cardstock.
  • With the same dies set, die cut some ocean patterned cardstock with the 3rd largest die.
  • Adhere the white band on the patterned cardstock with some Kids Choice Glue.
  • Adhere the circles on the left side of the card base (as shown in the picture).

Step 2: The Octopus

  • Using Elizabeth Craft Designs Octopus #1748 dies set, die cut the octopus and the sailor's hat in some Elizabeth Craft Designs White Soft Finish Cardstock lined with some Double Sided Adhesive.
  • With some Broken China Distress Oxide and a dabber, color the octopus.
  • Use the Blueprint Sketch Oxide and a dabber to color the ribbon on the hat of the sailor.
  • Add some googly eyes on the octopus and adhere the hat on the octopus head.
  • The camera is part of a limited edition dies set also from Elizabeth Craft designs that is available only in store at the moment. If you don't dispose of this dies set, I suggest you do the following :  Die cut the camera using Elizabeth Craft Designs Safari Accessories #1620 dies set in some Twill Bazzill cardstock lined with some Double Sided Adhesive
  • With some Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide and a dabber, color the camera.
  • Adhere the camera on a piece of the same Twill cardstock. Cut around the camera to get the round hole filled in the back of the camera.
  • Adhere the camera on the octopus.
  • Adhere the octopus on the right side of the circle, as shown in the picture.

Step 3: Fishes
  • Using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Diving Accessories #1753 dies set, die cut the 3 fishes out of some Elizabeth Craft Designs White Soft Finish Cardstock lined with some Double Sided Adhesive.
  • Using some Spice Marmalade Oxide, Barn Door Oxide, Mustard Seed and a dabbers, color each fish a different color.
  • With a black fine point marker, dot the eye of each fish.
  • Adhere the fishes to the card on the left, as shown in the picture.

Here's a closer look at the finish card and you'll find the list of products used on this card.
